1. Through All Eternity ~Enishi no Kizuna~
This track removes a lot of the hard rock aspects found in ayami’s previous songs, and provides a synthy-pop-rock atmosphere in its place. Repeated synth lines play behind the vocals, and while guitars are still present, they don’t have as much of a main role. The tempo is medium-paced and relaxed, and I think there could be some more energy injected into the song. On the good side though, there’s a spunky bassline in the second verse and plenty of backing vocal parts which create a rich musical setting. The guitar solo is cool too. Not too bad, but not as interesting as her previous A-side.
2. Good Bye! My Surrender
Good Bye! My Surrender is a bit more rocky than Through All Eternity ~Enishi no Kizuna~, but still retains anison touches such as the strings melodies. In fact, the string parts are one of the best bits of the song, with sweeping flourishes making an awesome countermelody. The chorus is all right, but didn’t stand out that much. Actually, the first lines few lines of the chorus sound really familiar – I was thinking earthmind but couldn’t pick the song, so maybe I’m wrong. It’s another decent song, but not that special.
This single was not at the same level as Revise The World. The thing with ayami is that she needs a really good arrangement going for her, I find her voice fine but not amazing so the arrangement is going to play a large part in whether I like the song. A little disappointing this time, but hopefully she can bounce back with some more tunes like Apocalypse of Destiny.
