1. Itsumo Kono Basho de
As it is the ending theme from the Steins’Gate movie, I was unsurprised that Itsumo Kono Basho de is a ballad. The arrangement is light and relaxing with the usual anison instruments of acoustic guitar, strings, occasional soft synths and piano, but my problem with this track was her vocals. Her head voice is still weak for the most part and it was a let down especially given how often she used it throughout the song. Something I do like though is that she expresses herself with more vibrato than she used to. Pretty average overall.
2. Foresight Oscillator
From the soft synths, piano and digital drums, you could be forgiven for thinking this was a standard Kanako Itou electropop song. In fact, it sounds exactly like a Kanako song and that’s because it was composed by Chiyomaru Shikura, who writes Kanako’s songs. Although the range of this song is about 5 notes, Ayane does sound more comfortable in here. I’m liking this more than the A-side, but it really isn’t that special and Ayane isn’t as good a singer as Kanako anyway. Yeah ok but not great.
Ayane’s 2nd(??) single with 5pb was disappointing Both songs were pretty generic, and I don’t think the A-Side suited her voice at all. If they were going to give her a ballad, it should have been like Tada Nagararu Mama ni. And the B-side was such a big Kanako Itou rip-off it wasn’t funny. They should at least give Ayane her own style! Try harder next time please.
